Course Description: 

In this course, we will discuss the standards for external audit reports and the purpose of the work performed by external auditors. We will discuss how fraud is addressed in the context of an external audit, and why external audits are not the best method for detecting fraud. Then we will discuss what information is contained in this reports and how the information can be used in a fraud examination! To demonstrate use of an audit report in a fraud examination, we will analyze a report for an external audit.
